New Look Homepage

New Updates Before weekend! :)
Written By: CulturePunk - Thu 18 September 2008Hi everyone! Looking Forward to the weekend? I am its my birthday tommorow! Anyway just thought I would let you know about our latest updates to the site before weekend. We have been working hard all week on the bands section and also generally on the site. #1 - Site Speed Up A few of you have mentioned to us that the site could be quite slow at times, taking up to 10 secs for some pages to load sometimes, we have been looking at a number of things over this week that we can do to speed things up and they have worked really well! The site should be now 9 to 10 times faster according to our tests. We are getting load times of less than 1 second for most pages now, a great improvement! #2 - Header Redesign We were watching someone new to the site sign up and get to grips with it and we found out that the header of the site was getting all cramped and confused alot of people with too much stuff in the navigation menu and all over the place. We have now come up with a new simpler bold design seperating it from the page content and we think will be much easier to use now for new people! Let us know what you think! #3 - Gig listings for band pages Following our annoucement last week of our updates to the band system with over 21,000 bands we have now added gig listings to all band pages where they have gigs listed on the site. Making it easier to find gigs for your favorite bands. Ha ha thats it for this update I think, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas then they are more than welcome! Comments (0)
Don't miss a gig again!
Written By: CulturePunk - Fri 12 September 2008Hi guys, been a couple of weeks since I sent out an update, but we have been working hard over last few weeks on some clever stuff for our brand new bands section. We have setup a new thing in your controls section so you can add all your favorite bands in and have created a new section called "Who's Touring", basically this will give you a personalised gig listings showing all gigs from your favorite bands. If you want to try it out, login to your account and go to: My Controls -> Add Favorite Bands which allows you to easily add all your bands in either by entering them or copy and pasting them in a text box or you can go to the bands profile and click add to favorites from there. Then go to - My Controls -> Who's Touring for your personalised gig listings showing gigs from all your favorite bands that we have listed on the site. New Bands Section
Written By: CulturePunk - Mon 18 August 2008The team have been hard at work over the last week creating a brand new section of the site for bands to add their details / photos / music / etc. Go check it out! http://bands.rlve.co.uk/ We havent got any bands on there yet, so if your in a band or know people in a band and you would like to promote yourselfs and get your page, please tell them about this and get them to join up. Updates - Photography Section and Gigs and Events
Written By: CulturePunk - Mon 4 August 2008Things are moving on quite quickly again now, and we are adding more and more things to the site that we think will help out bands and drive the community forward. Thanks for everyone for your suggestions and requests. If anyone has any more ideas for new things on the site then let me know! Firstly this week, as a few of you have been requesting, we have added up a new section for all you photographers to upload your work onto the site and get yourselves out there in front of bands aswell as showing off your creativity to the community. All the gallery functions for pages are now up so go check it out, add a page for yourself and let me know if you have any problems. This week we will also be working on the gigs and events section, which over the weekend has had 2,000+ gigs added to it by us and more to come soon. We hope we can provide a guide for everyone and help you find great live music local to you. Aswell as all the gigs we are adding we will also be working on a new design for this area to make things easier and look a bit better.Comments (13) |
